Camber Capers

Camber Capers Family friendly event Avec une traduction Francaise

12 noon-5pm, Johnson’s Field, Lydd Road, Camber (Please note: car parking charges apply for the main car park)

Family activities amongst the sand dunes of Camber and on the beach. The Kent Kite Flyers will present the wind garden and a display of colourful kites as well as expert guidance to have a go. Workshop activities including shell making object, kite making, sea creature and sand sculpture will be on offer all day among other including:

  • Maypole dancing demonstration
  • Wildlife quiz and prizes
  • Giant sand maze
  • Cool seas road show
  • Storytelling and more

Sand Dune Detectives Family friendly event Donations

Teams can start any time between 1pm and 3pm (approx 1 hour to complete)

Form a team with your friends and family to follow a fun detective trail and learn about coastal wildlife with leader Shorelock Holmes and East Sussex County Council rangers. Prizes for young sleuths on completion.

Please note: dogs are not allowed on guided walks

Pond dipping at Castle Water

Bring the family to explore Castle Water, to find what creepy crawlies lurk amongst the reeds. Pond nets and ID guides will be supplied. (2 miles)

10.30am-12.30pm, meet at Rye station

Easy ride with East Sussex County Council ranger Vicky Pannell, following the banks of the Royal Military Canal, before heading towards Winchelsea and back to Rye (5 miles). For information call 01273 481654, or 07815 041097 on the day.
