One global report suggests wild fish will be gone by 2050 but conservation-grade harvesting is possible, and locally some fishing has won the highest conservation accolade. Hear from scientists, conservationists and award-winners about what’s good to eat, and then try some at Rye’s premier fish restaurant.

11am-1pm, meet at Rye Harbour car park
Come and join the nature reserve warden, Chris Bentley, for a Landrover tour of the reserve. £5 per person. Booking essential as 8 maximum (01797 227784).

2pm-5pm, meet at roadside pool between Pett Level and Winchelsea Beach.
Discover the birds of the levels with Phil Jones of the Wetland Trust, and visit the hide at the Pannel Valley nature reserve (4 miles).

6pm-8pm, meet at the Rye Harbour car park
Come along to see and hear the huge variety of seabirds breeding on the nature reserve (2 miles).
