Wildlife Weekend is your easy introduction to the wonderful nature of Rye Bay. Most events are suitable for beginners and families, and don’t require booking unless specified. Although most events are free, the organisations offering them always welcome donations or extra memberships.

Fri 25 May – Sun 24 June, 10am-5pm (closed on Tuesdays)
See the results of a year-long Franco-British collaboration between artists Bob Greenhalf from Rye Bay and Noëlle le Guillouzic from Baie de Somme. The exhibition portrays the two bays with their differences and similarities throughout the seasons.
More paintings of the two bays by French watercolourist Noëlle Le Guillouzic and birds of the Rye Bay area sculpted in bronze.

Fri 25 – Mon 28 May, 11am-4pm, Fish Café, Tower Street
Display by the Marine Society and Sussex Seasearch of the marine life around our shores, with a special introductory taste of conservation-grade flavoursome fish for £1.

Award-winning landscape photographer Peter Greenhalf exhibits black and white and colour, fine art photographs of the Rye Bay area.

The Place, Camber Sands, Fri 30 March to end of June, 11am-8pm
Barry Yates has managed the nature reserve at Rye Harbour for over 20 years, and has seen the shore of Rye Bay in all its moods. Proceeds from photo sales go to the Friends of Rye Harbour Nature Reserve.

Sat 26 to Mon 28 May, 2pm-5pm
£2 adults, £1 concs/children, free for members of English Heritage and Friends of Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. Parking at Brede Lock car park.

Rye High Street’s favourite bookstore will display a selection of wildlife books, including the newly published Sussex Bird Report.
